Summer Liu Xiaobo Fellowships

The Congressional-Executive Commission on China is offering paid Fellowships to those with Bachelor’s degrees. Fellows are paid $18/hour. Fellows must be US citizens. Fellows should have completed at least some China-related coursework. It is also desirable that they have some background in human rights and/or rule of law issues within the CECC legislative mandate. Fellows should be able to read Chinese well enough to assist with research in newspapers, journals, and government documents. A highly competitive candidate will have lived/studied in mainland China, Hong Kong, or Taiwan.

The Johns Hopkins Undergraduate Law Review is excited to open its submissions call for the Spring 2023 journal.  They are seeking thoughtful, engaging, and well-researched articles from upper-level electives/seminars, independent studies, and thesis programs that pertain to law and legal studies and reflect their core mission of providing accessible, informed, and thought-provoking legal analysis. While they have no maximum page length, they request all papers be a minimum of ten pages. Manuscripts should follow the Chicago Style of formatting, with endnotes and a complete bibliography. Frederick Douglass Global Fellowship

The Frederick Douglass Global Fellowship honors the legacy of the abolitionist and statesman with a fully funded summer study abroad program for students of color who exemplify leadership, social justice, agitation for positive change and cross-cultural understanding. During the four-week summer program (July 7–August 4, 2023), Fellows travel to DC, Cape Town, Dublin, Derry, and Belfast to explore the legacies of Frederick Douglass, Abraham Lincoln, John Lewis, Nelson Mandela, Bishop Desmond Tutu, Daniel O’Connell, John Hume, and other giants of social change. Students must be freshmen, sophomores, or juniors, have a minimum GPA of 3.3, be a US citizen/national/permanent resident, and identify as an ethnicity typically underrepresented on study abroad programs.
